We are Georg Jensen A/S, a company incorporated in Denmark under Company No: 26 57 36 45, VAT No: GB283429875 and with our registered office at Sdr. Fasanvej 7, DK-2000, Denmark, (hereinafter “Georg Jensen” or “we”).

Before buying any products from our online shop on our website georgjensen.com/en-gb (“our website”) please read these Terms and Conditions thoroughly as they, together with the documents referred to within them, tell you the terms and conditions on which you purchase, and we supply to you, our products.

If you do not understand any point please ask for further information. In particular, your attention is drawn to the sections under the heading PRICES AND PAYMENT, RIGHT TO CANCEL, and LIABILITY AND DISCLAIMER. By clicking on the tick box stating that you “accept the terms and conditions” you are acknowledging that you have read and agreed to these terms and conditions.

Placing an order

By placing an order through our site, you warrant that:

  1. you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts; and
  2. you are at least 18 years old.

After placing your order, we will send you an e-mail confirming that you have placed your order. Please note that this does not mean that your order has been accepted. Your order constitutes an offer to us to buy a product.

All orders are subject to acceptance by us, and we will confirm such acceptance to you by sending you an e-mail that confirms that your order has been accepted and processed (“Shipping E-mail”). The contract between you and us will only be formed when we send you the Shipping E-mail. If the desired product is not in stock, we will contact you by phone or e-mail.

We do not accept orders for delivery outside the UK on our website. To ship to other countries, including Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man and Overseas Territories, click “United Kingdom” at the bottom of the site and select your destination country from the list that appears. Select “Other EU countries” for Isle of Man and “Other countries” for the rest of the above islands, etc.

Prices and payment

All prices are listed in Great British Pounds (“GBP”) and include VAT, currently 20%. We reserve the right to change our prices with immediate effect and without prior notice. Prices are typically adjusted on 1 February each year. The price applicable to your purchase is that which is listed on the website for the product in question at the time that you place your order.

Payment methods

We accept payment with the following payment methods: VISA, VISA Debit, VISA Electron, MasterCard, American Express, Maestro, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Klarna Pay Later and PayPal. There are no surcharges for payments made with these payment methods. When you place an order, the payment total will be reserved on your account, but the money will not be deducted from your account until we ship your order.

Safe payment

We encrypts all of your card data with the so-called SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol. This means that unauthorized persons cannot read your card number or other information transmitted during the transaction with Adyen B.V. and PayPal, who handle payments for purchases made on georgjensen.com/en-gb. Merchant of Record, i.e. the legal entity receiving payment for your purchase is Georg Jensen A/S, Søndre Fasanvej 7, 2000 Frederiksberg, Denmark.

Payment with PayPal

Georg Jensen offer payment with PayPal. PayPal has your details saved, so all it takes is an email address and password to safely complete your order. If you do not have a PayPal account, you can create one here.

Payment with Klarna

We offer 14 days credit from the day your order has been shipped, with Klarna Bank AB (publ), Sveavägen 46, 111 34 Stockholm, Sweden. You can find the Terms and Conditions for Pay Later here.

Georg Jensen Gift Cards

You may purchase a Georg Jensen Gift Card or a Georg Jensen Electronic Gift Card (collectively “Gift Cards”) in any Georg Jensen shop or online at www.georgjensen.com/en-gb (the website). If purchasing online, you will be required to confirm that you accept these Terms and Conditions.

A Gift Card can only be issued in the currency and the amounts applicable to the country in which it is purchased or issued. Gift Cards purchased in a Georg Jensen Shop in the United Kingdom or via the website, are issued in GBP. Gift Cards can only be redeemed against Georg Jensen products sold in the same currency.

You - or the person you have transferred a Gift Card to - may use a Gift Card in Georg Jensen stores in the country in which the Gift Card was purchased or issued. Gift Cards issued in GBP are redeemable both online at the website and in all Georg Jensen stores in the United Kingdom. Please visit the Store Locator or contact our Customer Services team in the United Kingdom for details of your nearest store. The Gift Card is not accepted by third parties in the United Kingdom or elsewhere selling Georg Jensen products.

Gift Cards shall expiry 3 years after date of purchase. 

When using a Gift Card on the Georg Jensen online shop, you will be required to give the card number and the PIN which is revealed by scratching off the panel next to the serial number on the back of the Gift Card (physical Gift Cards) or received by e-mail (electronic Gift Cards). 

When you use a Gift Card, the amount of your purchase including VAT will be deducted from the balance on the Gift Card. If your purchase totals less than the value of the Gift Card, any balance will be left as credit for you on the Gift Card to spend in the future. Change will not be given. 

If the amount of your purchase exceeds the balance on your Gift Card, you will be required to pay the remaining price of the product by some other acceptable means for payment. You can use up to 3 Gift Cards for the same purchase whether online or instore. 

You may obtain information about the remaining balance on the Gift Card by typing in the Gift Card number in the balance check function on our website.

All refunds of goods or services purchased with a Gift Card will be made in accordance with Georg Jensen’s refund policy. This does not affect your statutory rights. Any refunds will be issued as a new Electronic Gift Card or returned to your existing Gift Card. You may also exchange for other Georg Jensen goods in accordance with Georg Jensen’s exchange policy and no cash refunds will be given.

You have a right to withdraw your purchase of a Gift Card purchased online within 30 days without explanation as further described under “Right to cancel” in these Terms & Conditions, so long as the Gift Card has not been used instore or online.

Georg Jensen is not responsible for any fraudulent use or misuse of the Gift Card. Any lost, stolen or destroyed Gift Cards cannot be replaced. Georg Jensen will cancel the value of a Gift Card if we fail to receive payment from the purchaser's bank or card company for the initial purchase of the Gift Card. 

Georg Jensen is not liable for any other costs or expenses whether direct or indirect incurred to the purchaser except for the value of the gift card upon refund. 

Georg Jensen reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time where we consider it reasonable and necessary to do so; an up-to-date version can be found on our website

Staffing

You can order online at any time you wish. The Georg Jensen staff processes orders Monday - Thursday 8:00 - 15.00, Friday 8:00 - 14:30. Orders placed outside of these hours will be processed on the following business day.

Delivery

Delivery will be made to the UK delivery address provided by you or the closest pick-up point. The delivery service will inform you about the delivery. 

We cannot guarantee local delivery conditions, and so cannot provide a guaranteed delivery time. You have a right to cancel your order if the delivery is delayed.

If the desired product is not in stock, we will contact you by phone or e-mail. 

We insure all shipments against loss and damage while they are in transit from Georg Jensen to the recipient address. As soon as the shipment has been delivered, the insurance will lapse, and you will be responsible for looking after the products. If your package is damaged upon arrival, we recommend that you make a note that you have received a damaged package when signing for the shipment.

Delivery methods and fees

Home, Seasonal and Silver Jewellery products are shipped from United Kingdom.

All other product categories (Gold Jewellery, Watches, Fine Silverware and Silver Cutlery) are shipped from Denmark. You will not incur any additional duty fees on your order. 
Free delivery and exchange on all Jewellery.

The below delivery fees are for deliveries within the UK:

  • Standard delivery: GBP 9.99 on orders below £100, GBP 0 on orders above £100.
  • Express delivery: GBP 20 (Express delivery is not available on Silver Jewellery, Home or Seasonal products (standard delivery is 1-2 business days).

Free delivery may be offered in connection with campaigns. The delivery fees will be listed on the checkout pages and in the order confirmation that you will receive via e-mail.

Brexit

Following BREXIT and the import customs handling, you can expect some delays in lead time on standard delivery of product categories shipped from Denmark (Jewellery, Watches, Fine Silverware and Silver Cutlery).

Standard delivery

You can expect to receive your order within 1-11 business days, depending on the product category and when we have the item in stock:

  • HOME, SEASONAL and SILVER JEWELLERY: 1-2 business days
  • GOLD JEWELLERY and WATCHES: 4-6 business days
  • GOLD JEWELLERY and WATCHES (when hallmarking is required): 4-9 business days
  • FINE SILVERWARE and SILVER CUTLERY: 6-9 business days
  • MIXED ORDERS (orders that include both HOME and/or SEASONAL and any of the other above mentioned product categories): 4-11 business days  

Express delivery

If you choose express delivery on shipments from Denmark (Gold jewellery, watches and fine silverware), you can expect to receive your order within 1-8 business days when we have the item in stock:

  • GOLD JEWELLERY and WATCHES: 1-2 business days
  • GOLD JEWELLERY and WATCHES (where hallmarking is required): 3-6 business days
  • FINE SILVERWARE and SILVER CUTLERY: 6-9 business days
  • MIXED ORDERS (orders that include both Home and/or Seasonal and hallmarked Jewellery or Watches): 5-8 business days.

Express delivery is not available on HOME and SEASONAL products (standard delivery is 1-2 business days). 

Exchange and Returns 

Right to cancel

You have the right to cancel your purchase within 30 days without explanation. The right to cancel lapses 30 days after receipt of the goods. If the purchase concerns several goods delivered in separate deliveries, the right to cancel expires 30 days after the last item has been delivered.

To use your right to cancel, you must inform us that you wish to cancel within 30 days, e.g. by letter or e-mail. You cannot simply choose not to receive/sign for the package upon delivery. You may use the return form that is enclosed with your package, but this is not mandatory. 

If you wish to cancel a purchase, you must return the product to us. It is important that you do not break any seal/label on the product. If the seal/label is broken, you cannot use your right to cancel. If you have received a free gift as a part of your purchase, you must also return the free gift to us, if you no longer meet the conditions for receiving the free gift. 

You will be liable for any deterioration in the product's (and free gift’s) value that is due to handling other than what is necessary to determine the products' nature, characteristics and method of functioning. Since the product's packaging, such as boxes for jewellery, watches and other items, is important for possible resale of the product, any damage to or failure to return the packaging will be deemed to be a deterioration in its value. You assume the risk of ensuring that the product is packaged responsibly when it is returned.

You must return the product(s) without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the date on which you informed us of your wish to withdraw.  

Return fees

As further specified below, we deduct a return fee of GBP 9.99 for pre-paid return labels unless you arrange and pay return shipping yourself. If you wish to exchange a product, we will pay the return shipping cost for the first exchange.

For returns to the United Kingdom, you can arrange return shipping via Royal Mail, subject to a return fee of GBP 9.99. Fill out and print the pre-paid return label on the Royal Mail web portal (https://www.royalmail.com/track-my-return/create/5933) or create a QR code that will allow Royal Mail to print the pre-paid return label for you. Please drop off the package at the nearest Royal Mail office.

If you use the pre-paid return label via Royal Mail, you are insured in case the package is lost in transit.

On returns to Denmark, we can arrange the return for you, subject to a return fee of GBP 9.99. Send an e-mail to Customer Service at onlinestore@georgjensen.com with the subject line: “Return/Exchange of order number xxxxxxxxx” (insert your order number which can be found on your Order Confirmation).

We will then e-mail you a return label and you can drop off the package at the nearest UPS drop-off point. If you use the pre-paid freight label and return your products with UPS, you are insured in case the package is lost in transit.

If you wish to arrange your preferred shipping provider instead, you will have to pay the return costs yourself and arrange for insurance so that you may claim compensation from the shipping provider if your package is lost in transit. Please include the information mentioned on the return form or simply fill in and include the return form so we can find you in our system and refund your payment. Please note that we do not accept packages sent as cash on delivery.

Refund of payment

When you cancel a purchase, we will refund your payment minus any return fee to your account as soon as possible and no later than 14 days after we have received your notification that you wish to withdraw. We can, however, withhold the refund until we have received the return product, or you have provided us with documentation showing that the product has been returned. We will deduct the value of any free gift, if you do not return it with the other items and no longer meet the conditions for receiving the gift. If you return the full order, we will also return the shipping cost.

Refunds are transferred to the payment card with which the purchase was made.

Exchange instruction

If you wish to exchange a product you purchased, we will pay the return shipping cost for the first exchange, which must take place no later than 30 days from receipt of the order. If a product is to be exchanged multiple times, e.g. if the size is wrong, you must pay the shipping costs for any additional exchange.

If the new item has a lower price, the difference will be refunded to the payment card with which the purchase was made. If the new item has a higher price, the exchange will be handled as a cancellation of your first purchase. The entire amount will thus be refunded to the payment card with which the purchase was made, and you will then have to place a new order for the item you want instead. In that case, you will be contacted by customer service.

In the lower part of the return form that is included with your package, you can specify why and to what you want the product exchanged.

Restrictions on cancellations, refunds and exchanges

You will be refunded for standard delivery charges only for cancellations.

You shall not have the right to cancel your order for, or to exchange, goods which are clearly personalised.

The procedures set out here to cancel an order or exchange a product do not affect your right to reject faulty goods.

Liability and disclaimer

We warrant that any product purchased through our website will on delivery conform in all material respects with its description, be of satisfactory quality and fit for all purposes for which products of that kind are commonly supplied.

If we fail to comply with these terms and conditions, we shall only be liable to you for the purchase price of the product in question and any losses that you suffer as a result of our failure to comply (whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise) which are a foreseeable consequence of such failure.

HOWEVER, we shall not be liable to you for losses that result from our failure to comply with these terms and conditions that fall into the following categories:
  1. loss of income or revenue;
  2. loss of business;
  3. loss of profits;
  4. loss of anticipated savings;
  5. loss of data; or
  6. waste of management or office time

unless those claims for loss of or damage to your physical property that are foreseeable or any other claims for direct loss that are not excluded by categories (a) to (f) inclusive.

Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits our liability for:

  1. death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  2. fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  3. any breach of the obligations implied by section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 or section 2 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982;
  4. defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987; or
  5. any other matter for which it would be illegal for us to exclude or attempt to exclude our liability.

Nothing said by any salesperson on our behalf should be understood as a variation of these terms and conditions or as an authorised representation about the nature or quality of any goods offered for sale by us. Save for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, we shall have no liability for any such representations being untrue or misleading.

Invalidity

If any part of these terms and conditions is unenforceable (including any provision in which we exclude our liability to you) the enforceability of any other part of these conditions will not be affected.

Protection of personal data

We are subject to rules regarding the processing of personal data. We collect data about you in different ways in connection with your use of georgjensen.com/en-gb. Changes to the terms and conditions

The rapid development of the internet can make changes to our Terms and Conditions necessary. Thus, we reserve the right to update and revise the Terms and Conditions. Law and jurisdiction

Contracts for the purchase of products through our website and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) will be governed by English law. Any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with such contracts or their formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Third party rights

A person who is not party to these Terms and Conditions or a Contract shall not have any rights under or in connection with them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
