The Weft Collection
Crafted from the house’s founding material, the new Weft collection translates weaving into sterling silver. Composed of hand-hooked links woven around an internal chain, the pieces draw on archival motifs to create modern jewellery that balances meticulous construction with a sense of movement.
Woven in silver
The collection began with a single strand of silver wire, a detail that appears across Georg Jensen’s archival jewellery and hollowware. This is twisted into individual links, which are then hooked together by hand and secured by an internal chain running through them.
An open construction
Creating a sense of both strength and fragility, of rigidity and movement, the Weft collection is built on an open construction. This full visibility of the jewellery’s inner workings exposes and honours the meticulous craftsmanship behind it.
Revisiting the archives
The collection translates the house’s codes in a novel way, reinterpreting archive motifs into modern pieces. The silver wire found throughout storied hollowware, as well as the bead from Georg Jensen’s hallmark applied to precious metals, are among the elements that shape Weft.
