Corporate Social Responsibility

In February 2009 Georg Jensen made a public commitment to CSR and joined UN’s Global Compact. UN’s Global Compact is a global network of corporate entities who intend proactively to contribute to the solution to some of the world’s social and environmental challenges.

Global Compact is based on 10 principles within Human Rights, Labour Rights, Environmental Protection and struggle against corruption.  It is our intentions to incorporate these 10 principles into our current and future work in relation to the social responsibility of Georg Jensen.

In order to live up to our responsibility we strive to comply with international standards and treaties regarding purchase of silver, gold and diamonds.

Already today Georg Jensen comply with the majority of the 10 principles and will continuously evaluate whether there are areas in which we can improve our efforts, be it in terms of the health and safety of our employees , the protection of the environment or our impact on society.

In relation to vendors our ambition for our commitment to Global Compact is to support vendor focus on the principles as well. Our ambition is to strengthen the dialogue with vendors and help them improve their commitment and engagement in the challenges we share. We also want to make vendors understand our high expectations in relation to environmental challenges, anti-corruption as well as labour and human rights.
