The Collector
Forming a constellation of singular works, The Collector is a new series of archival jewellery crafted by six female artist-makers who collaborated with Georg Jensen during the second half of the 20th century.
Works of art
The Collector gathers pieces conceived as unique works of art. Each design is defined by its own identity – from the supple forms of Nanna Ditzel’s 18kt gold bangle set with oval-shaped amethyst, to Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe’s distinctive pendant, which doubles as a magnifying glass. Together, the jewellery represents the openness to artistic expression that Georg Jensen has embodied since 1904.
The makers
Georg Jensen has been a house of collaborators since the very beginning. The Collector epitomises how the house has long attracted some of the greatest figures in Scandinavian design: from Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe, the first female silversmith to achieve international recognition, to Danish textile artist Kim Naver and Nanna Ditzel, one of Denmark’s most influential designers of the postwar period.
