As a result, Georg Jensen A/S (“Georg Jensen”), Danish company reg. no. 26573645, Søndre Fasanvej 7, 2000 Frederiksberg, Denmark is the data controller for the information collected about customers and visitors to our stores and the website https://www.georgjensen.com/en-us (“website”).
Collection of personal data
Georg Jensen collects, saves and processes personal data about you in connection with your purchases in our stores and use of our website. You will always be informed when personal data is collected about you. These personal data will often be your name, address, e-mail address, phone number, gender, age and date of birth.
When we request your personal data, we will advise you whether the submission of personal data is voluntary or necessary for the execution of the desired action, such as the completion of a purchase in our web shop. If you refuse to provide such information, it may prevent us from being able to complete a purchase order and/or impact the services that we can provide to you, including information about our products.
While we primarily collect your information directly from you, we may also receive information from other sources, such as third parties who disclose your information in connection with the purchase of a gift or a social media website through which you might engage with us.
Why does Georg Jensen process your personal data?
Georg Jensen processes your personal data for the following purposes:
Fulfilment of orders
For the purpose of completing and delivering orders that you make in our stores or on our website, Georg Jensen processes information about you in order to fulfil the order. For example, we will ask for your e-mail address so that we can send you a confirmation and a receipt of your purchase and your physical address for the delivery of your order.
Queries about products
In order to respond to queries that you submit to a store or online in connection with price, stock and dealer status.
Payment with PayPal
In order to offer you payment with PayPal, it is necessary to disclose your personal and contact information, as well as information about your order to PayPal.
Marketing communication and newsletters
You have the option to register your e-mail address on a mailing list at Georg Jensen so you can receive news and other information on a regular basis. If you have given your consent to receive marketing communication and newsletters, Georg Jensen will process your personal information for sending newsletters/marketing communication by e-mail and sms from Georg Jensen that includes current offers, information about events and news at Georg Jensen. If you do not wish to receive these e-mails and newsletters, you can unsubscribe by using the unsubscribe link in the newsletter/ communication or by contacting us by e-mail at internetUS@georgjensen.com.
Please note that the use of personal data for sending marketing material will only take place if you have previously given your explicit consent, unless the law allows us to contact you without consent. In this case, our basis for processing your personal data will be Georg Jensen's legitimate interest in marketing.
Participation in competitions
Georg Jensen collects data about you in connection with your participation in competitions and similar activities.

Customer service and communication
When you contact customer service or communicate with us in a different context, we collect and process the information you provide in order to deal with your enquiries. We encourage you not to provide sensitive personal information (e.g. health information) to us unless it is strictly necessary for processing your enquiry. If you choose to send sensitive information to us via e-mail, it should only be in encrypted form.
In addition to the above purposes, Georg Jensen may also process your personal information based on Georg Jensen's legitimate interests in carrying out other marketing, evaluating and developing our products and services as well as compiling statistics and analyses, and also for compliance with legal requirements or for determining or defending legal claims.
With whom does Georg Jensen share your personal information?
Georg Jensen does not disclose your personal information to third parties without your permission. However, disclosure may be made if the disclosure is necessary to fulfil a contract to which you are a party, for example to carriers in connection with the delivery of orders.
Under certain circumstances and pursuant to the law, it may be necessary to disclose personal data to public authorities or the police. For example, information may be disclosed to the police in case of suspicion of credit card fraud.
If you have signed up for our newsletters and other marketing content and have chosen United States of America as your home market, your personal data will be shared with Georg Jensen Inc. in order for Georg Jensen Inc. to e.g. invite you to events in a local Georg Jensen store or to provide you with other relevant marketing content. Georg Jensen A/S and Georg Jensen Inc. have established a joint controllership regarding this specific setup with the purpose of giving you the best customer experience in relation to your home market and your local store. The joint controllership enables Georg Jensen Inc. to contact you directly and to process your personal data for their own purposes in relation to providing you with relevant marketing content. Both Georg Jensen A/S and Georg Jensen Inc. are responsible for protecting your rights as a data subject, ensuring the necessary security measures and use of data processors. The transfer of personal data from Georg Jensen A/S to Georg Jensen Inc. under the joint controllership is based on the Commission Decision 2004/915/EU of 27 December 2004 (Controller to controller).
In certain instances, Georg Jensen discloses your personal data to Georg Jensen's suppliers who provide services on behalf of Georg Jensen, for example, billing, sales, marketing, IT support, advertising, analytics, research, product service support, shipping and purchase order fulfilment, data storage, validation, security, fraud prevention, payment processing, and legal services. These suppliers process personal data on behalf of Georg Jensen and in accordance with Georg Jensen's instructions and thus cannot process personal data for their own purposes.
In addition, we may disclose your personal data to other Georg Jensen group entities in order to deliver products and services to you, to ensure a consistent level of service across our products and services, to enhance our products, services and your customer experience.
A number of Georg Jensen's suppliers who process personal data on behalf of Georg Jensen are located outside the EU/EEA. However, we only transfer personal data to suppliers who can provide the necessary guarantees that an adequate level of data protection is in place. Therefore, your personal data will only be transferred to a recipient outside the EU/EEA, if the recipient is certified under the US-EU Privacy Shield Framework (USA only), or if we have entered into a standard contract approved by the EU Commission with the party concerned.
Cookies can be used for the following purposes:

Withdrawal of consent

Retention of personal data
Georg Jensen endeavours to update the information we store so that the personal data is correct at all times.
Your personal data will be deleted when it is no longer required in order for Georg Jensen to process or store it for use for the above purposes or for other legitimate purposes, including on the basis of applicable law or for the purpose of determining, making or defending a legal claim.
Georg Jensen does not store names and e-mail addresses of users who participated in, for example, competitions, after the competition has ended, unless those participants have consented to the use of their personal data for another purpose, such as a My Georg Jensen membership or inclusion on our e-mailing list.
The information may also be stored for an extended period in anonymous form, i.e. it will no longer be possible to connect the information to you.
You are entitled to know what information about you Georg Jensen processes and the purpose for which the information is processed. You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, including profiling, and the right to demand correction, deletion or blocking of information that is incorrect, misleading or similarly processed in breach of the law, or demand restriction of the processing.
In addition, in certain cases, you may have the right to obtain the personal data you have provided to Georg Jensen in a structured, commonly-used and machine-readable format and to transfer this information to another data controller.
You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing, including profiling.

It is important for Georg Jensen that your personal information is kept safe and confidential.
