Georg Jensen collects data about you in different ways in connection with your use of georgjensen.com. The below guidelines provide a more thorough description of the type of information we collect, how we process this data and who you can contact if you have questions or comments about our guidelines.

What information do we collect?

Georg Jensen collects information about our users in two ways: Through so-called “cookies” (see the next section) and through registration (see below).

In general, Georg Jensen only requests personal and user-related information when you wish to subscribe to newsletters, enter contests, or take advantage of other services. Personal data collected by Georg Jensen is primarily limited to: e-mail address, name, address, gender and age, but may also include other information such as interests, etc.

In connection with purchases on its website, Georg Jensen A/S requests the customer’s name, address, telephone number and e-mail address, all of which are necessary to fill the order and are used solely in connection with processing the order. The information is transmitted and stored electronically in unencrypted form for a period of 5 years.

You may voluntarily choose to register your e-mail address on a mailing list at Georg Jensen, so that you can receive regular news updates and other information from Georg Jensen. You can subscribe and unsubscribe from this service at any time, free of charge.

Georg Jensen does not store the names and e-mail addresses of users who have unsubscribed from services, nor of users who have participated in contests, for example.

Why do we use cookies?

When you visit georgjensen.com for the first time, you automatically receive a cookie. A cookie is a small text file that is stored in your web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Safari, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, etc), which registers you as a unique user. A cookie can contain text, numbers or, for example, a date, but no personal information is stored in a cookie. It is not a program and cannot contain a virus.

Most browsers enable you to delete cookies from your hard disk, block all cookies, or receive a warning before a cookie is saved. See the guide to your browser or the help function to read more information about these functions. However, you must be aware that you sometimes cannot access a website, or that some functions on a website cannot function if you do not accept cookies.

Georg Jensen uses cookies to compile demographic and user-related statistics to thereby gather a better understanding of who visits georgjensen.com. Georg Jensen solely registers anonymous data such as IP numbers, total bytes sent and received, internet host, time, browser type, browser version and language, etc. This type of data enables us to adapt and create content and services that match your interests and wishes.

Access to all registered user data at georgjensen.com is limited to trusted employees of Georg Jensen A/S and our security measures are regularly controlled to determine whether data about our users is handled correctly and in observance of the users’ rights.

However, it is not possible to guarantee 100% security for data transactions via internet. When data is sent and stored electronically, there is always a risk that others will force their way to unauthorized access to protected data before it reaches our servers. So even though Georg Jensen does its best to protect your personal data, we cannot secure, nor guarantee the security of some information. Thus, you send your data at your own risk.

Who do we share personal data with?

When you register at georgjensen.com or otherwise provide your personal data, Georg Jensen does not under any circumstances transmit or sell to third parties information that can be connected to identifiable individuals without your explicit permission. When we make such revisions, we will also change the date listed after “last updated” at the bottom of the document. In case of significant changes, Georg Jensen will inform you by posting a notice in a prominent location on georgjensen.com.
